I’m usually pretty frugal and try to find deals on most things. Once you decide to go SW, it’s just the cost of doing business. It doesn’t bother me as much for some reason.

it’s like if you go racing. There’s a cost. You can do whatever to manage it but it’s still hefty. It is what it is.

Anyway, on the current 90G that’s 4 months old now I’d estimate $2k-$3k.

Let’s see if I’m close
$300 tank, $150 skimmer and rock, $500 more rock, salt, heaters, ro/di from brs, $250 for lights, $50 for sump, $400 for return pump and power heads, $80 for ATO, $200 for fish, $800 for corals.

ok, what is all that. $2,730 ...: ahh. Plus test kits and meters call it $3k.

Don’t want to think about it I’m sort of in denial how much I have spent. I have a large rainbow acanthophyllia and Master Croc Scoly that were 2k each a couple years ago before prices went up. They are still healthy and beautiful.
If you ask my wife everything in my tank including my lights were bought on sale for $19.99 each

Hobbiest for 7-8 years now not sure how much money I’ve spent total on tanks and livestock.

I will say I spent over 10k just on my new 300 setup so there is that.

I have a 13.5 with a couple of upgrades and my wife swears I’ve got nearly $4k in it. Really though, I’m in the $1.5k ballpark.

That is what I’m thinking of starting. I’m moving to Florida in the next 6 months, so it will be after I’m settled there. I’m at least 1to 1-1/2 years away. Give or take some.

“All-in” on a custom 150-gallon FOWLR, including everything right down to the fish, I’d estimate $6,000. The trouble is, I have twin set-ups, so double that (due to the second tank). $12,000.

120g mixed Reef with canopy and 6 stage RODI system with 40 RO tank and 40g SW mixing tank. I think I am in the $4,000 - $5,000 Range.
Great setup. That’s exactly what I’m looking to build. Where did you get the plastic water containers?

I Wanna hear your ballpark figures on how much you think you've spent on your reef tank so far. Don't tell the wives........ including livestock!
