It doesn't matter to me what I've spent. I enjoy it, and that's what counts. Also, my wife knows what it costs, and she doesn't care. She spends her money on what she wants, and I do the same. We have a healthy relationship. ;)
Does she read your post or something?

You can view your whole order history on the BRS website. In 3 years I've placed 85 orders totaling over $12K from them alone, not counting all the other online vendors, local shops, and purchases from reefing friends. I'm easily at over $20K, but a good chunk of that was my Generac whole-house generator which obviously powers more than just my aquarium, but reefing was my primary excuse for that purchase!

If I’m not going to give a straight answer to my wife I’m probably not going to do so for you either. It’s been almost 2 decades, at least five full rebuilds and the area surrounding my current tank looks like I sell Neptune equipment for a living.

Let’s just say “a car’s worth of equipment”, and not dwell on what kind.

Damm I'm scared then if I'm only 6months in with a 20g and its already definitely close to 10k......

$1500 on a proclear 90
$1400 on xr15s with mount
$650 on nyos quantum 120 skimmer
$700 on two Nero5s
$600 on an SDC 6.0 return pump
$600 on 60 pounds of liferock shapes
$350 for a rodi system
$70 on 40 pounds of special grade dry sand
$70 on a heater
$450 on test kits and bacteria
$100 on mesh lid diy kit

jsut finished the cycle so I haven’t bought much coral or fish yet. Just two clowns, 2 zoa, 1 mushroom and a Duncan for maybe $270

maybe another $100 on socks, media and food
