$1500 on a proclear 90
$1400 on xr15s with mount
$650 on nyos quantum 120 skimmer
$700 on two Nero5s
$600 on an SDC 6.0 return pump
$600 on 60 pounds of liferock shapes
$350 for a rodi system
$70 on 40 pounds of special grade dry sand
$70 on a heater
$450 on test kits and bacteria
$100 on mesh lid diy kit

jsut finished the cycle so I haven’t bought much coral or fish yet. Just two clowns, 2 zoa, 1 mushroom and a Duncan for maybe $270

maybe another $100 on socks, media and food

Ashe's Law #1 - Anything that spells FUN will cost you a little bit more than you can afford.

I only have ex wives (yes plural), but I'm way too "seasoned" to be foolish enough to answer this poll publicly. Uh uh, no way buddy!

Alright since I distracted from the op’s question I’ll answer.
I have no idea how much I have spent but it’s easily in the tens of thousands. For me personally if I had too worry about the financial impact of operating a tank I would probably choose to hold off until I didn’t. Of course I have a serious Amazon problem and should probably seek help.

$12,281...but I've sold $5296...when I got back in the hobby I started keeping track and have mostly been buying up used stuff. That said I'm about $7k in the red, but I have a 120/90/70/32 biocube that are all stocked with fish and corals (though nothing super high end) I also have a 35 gal with a peacock mantis.

I Wanna hear your ballpark figures on how much you think you've spent on your reef tank so far. Don't tell the wives........ including livestock!

30 gallon innovative marine aio. For my 4 year old son. Ghl profilux 4, mitras lx7 lighting, vortech controller, 2 mp10's, reef octopus classic hang on back 1000, 15 watt aqua uv sterilizer. Building the stand. Almost 50 coral frags, inverts, fish, clams, at least 8,000.00 just since this past Christmas. That was his gift... and apparently it keeps giving lol!
