It doesn't matter to me what I've spent. I enjoy it, and that's what counts. Also, my wife knows what it costs, and she doesn't care. She spends her money on what she wants, and I do the same. We have a healthy relationship. ;)
*****THIS*****

Precisely!!!! Although I do keep each and every receipt in a drawer for reference one day. Maybe I want to know exactly how little I spent on that yellow tang! haha.

Can I see some pics of your tank? I don't automate anything either just a powerhead HOB filter and a heater I do 5g water changes weekly
Of course! One thing I noticed is you have much bigger corals. Curious if you bought bigger frags then me. I love watching things grow so I buy as small as I can.

Same here most stuff I bought as small frags and they grew FAST. A few were large like my scolys/meat corals, porites rock etc

About 2k in equipment and supplies. An additional $500 in equipment I ended up not sticking with. About $750 in livestock. Just a tad more expensive than a same sized 20 gallon freshwater tank that held a goldfish back in the day ;P

hopefully the $400 livestock isn’t only 1 or 2 fish

The price is inflated because of overnight shipping, there were 4 separate online orders for macro algae and for some phyto.

I suppose it'd be a cheap build if you could find the stuff locally.

The fish were the cheapest livestock because no overnight shipping.

I like breathing to much to put a number on here... but its more than 10k less than 20k for a FULL reef lagoon, a nem tank with a dozen nems, a 90 gallon tank working on for predators, and a few misc tanks for rock, macro, etc...
