the 360 tuna blue is a sick planted tank light, works amazing. I run mine closer to the 10k and prefer this bluish look to the common yellow/whiter modes. not one single issue w using it as a planted tank bulb. my 360 supports ten feet of plant growth, no small feat. bamboos are taking offer better than when it was metal halide. with any lacking light my system goes chlorotic fast, this is meeting all plant demands long term, on it about 18 mos now.

That's cool! I use two A360 tuna blues on my office lagoon with a bunch of mangroves. They've been growing like crazy while I have the color set to 100%! :)

@randyBRS Thanks for posting that data. It would explain the higher intensities I am able to get away with on my little tank. Outside of my peak time the color drops even more to 20% then down to zero. It's funny, I'm a guy who thought 10K metal halide was too blue back in the Nineties when they came out. I can't get enough Kessil blue. The corals look mental!

@randyBRS In the Kessill in depth video, at what intensity were you measuring the PAR? Ryan mentioned the color was at 50%, but didn't mention the intensity.

I believe it was 50% color 100% intensity

Using the Kessil controller, I assume I would ramp it up slowly in the morning using the intensity, and back down at night. My question for anyone, would you leave the color at the same level during the ramp up/down or do you leave that the same.

I start out at 0% color and ramp up to 50% color alongside my intensity. So it ramps up from 0 to 50% color and 30% intensity, and sits there during my peak hours, then have color ramp back down to 0 after that to create a dusk dawn effect.

Great info. I'm setting up a 150 , upgrading from a 29. I have 3 kessils in their boxes.
So do you also ramp up/down the intensity? When the color is at 0 does it look very white during dusk/dawn?

Here's my schedule: 1200 0% color 5% intensity 1400 20/35 1600 35/50 1800 35/50 2000 20/35 2200 0/0. Makes a nice bell curve. I have left the color static but prefer bluer for dawn and dusk.

Correct :) So my schedule goes as follows
at 11AM I start at 0% Color and 10% intensity
12PM 25% Color 15% Intensity
1PM 50% color 30% intensity (Also my t5 comes on at this time)
6PM 50% Color 30% intensity (t5's turn off at this time)
8pm 25% Color 15% intensity
9PM 0% color 0% intensity

Okay, so during the day I just have to see what looks the best for me? whether it's 35% color, 50% , or anything else.
Correct, you can leave it at 0 all the time if you wanted to. Adding in white by turning up the color is purely for aesthetics :)

I'm a guy who thought 10K metal halides looked too blue when they came out in the Nineties so me having the color max out at 35% goes against everything I stood for back then. I like the way it looks at 50-60 or even more too. The whole range on the thing from 0-100 looks great! I may bump up the color midday after I nip my little cyano outbreak in the bud.

Everyone is on top of it here! The BRStv Investigates tests were at 100% (except that short stint in the beginning to find out if 50% intensity equated to roughly 50% PAR. Because Kessil Logic maintains spectrum that has been known to grow coral, any color intensity you choose should be successful and it really comes down to what looks best for you. I do like the idea of ramping color percentage along with intensity, as it looks more like a sunrise/sunset to me! :)
