I used to try to do therapeutic sessions where we talked about why he felt the need to bully other fishes and if he was bullied when he was younger but I found the mirror much more effective and quicker. [emoji12]
Interestingly, the naso tang tries to break it up every once in awhile. But the mirror has done the trick and the powder blue mostly ignores the pyramid now.I have several bully fish in the tank. A couple have progressed on to murder. I had considered getting an even bigger, meaner fish to keep them in line. But I like your idea better and it provides some great entertainment as well.
Thank you Fer21. While I don't think I have the magic formula for them as I lost two prior to this one but the Red Sea varieties seem to import better. The trick is to get them to eat. It almost is more beneficial to put them into an established tank and allow them to graze naturally as you try to get them to accept food but that's just my personal opinion.Hello, your tank its truly amazing. I saw your videos on Youtube and I find your tank thread. I want to try to keep a Regal Angel, any advice you can give me to be successful, did you quarantine, what types of food did you offer, thanks !!
Anybody can name Justin. There are no rules to that. But if you don't push volume or sell any of them, there's no point in naming because it doesn't stick. So ok I have a dumb question.
How did u get to the point of naming ur own corals?
They are either wild or mariculture colonies that I have collected over the years. I cull the ugly ones and continue to collect until I find diamonds in the rough. Then I grow them out, let their colors mature about a year, and when they reach a final color, I sell them as my own named coral.Ok so my question is are these wild colonies? Or are these frags u just picked up that didn't have a name that's where I'm getting lost. I mean god bless ya and u deserve to have frags with ur name on it like Jason fox or battle corals. I wish one day I could have a J-Man Monti or a justified blue reverse aqua delux stag I could sell
I was just wondering did u buy the frags from some of the other guys and then just changed the name or are they named like I said before cause they are wild.
When my tanks ready I'm a pick up a farmer ty pack off ya cause they look amazing
No problem! Aussie acros that my LFS can order at times for me.Thanks for that info so how do u get the wild ones?
I'm based in Austin so there were group buys to Houston and San Antonio since I'm active in both communities. Roughly over 200 frags distributed amongst reefers of each community.I know you recently cut tons of frags and sold them. Were they all for locals or do you ship?
Thanks F291! Hopefully I can just leave it alone and let it grow out!Really digging your tank man!
What's the dud:stud ratio on maricultures? I've considered buying one a couple times, but I hear they tend to lose their color. They are either wild or mariculture colonies that I have collected over the years. I cull the ugly ones and continue to collect until I find diamonds in the rough. Then I grow them out, let their colors mature about a year, and when they reach a final color, I sell them as my own named coral.
