My picture of the all star is not a good judge. It was more brightly purple and the gold polyps were way more gold. I would say based on how it originally came in to me, all star was much nicer and then the merlins staff similar but not as vibrant comparatively.

Ty, your yellow on this one is looking great! What kinda par? Mine has lost most of his yellow but still looks healthy, just more silvery skin and white growth tips...

I added “the taco” this weekend... Dastaco A-4 calcium reactor. I’ll clean up the wires at a later point but just wanted to share. Rated for 525 gallons and I believe every gallon of that rating. That’s almost 3/4 of a 5-gallon bucket there of media and I had to order more because I still need to fill up the secondary reactor to the top. They only recommend filling up the first reactor halfway.

They thought of everything it seems. Built-in peristaltic pump, light sensor for the reactor to increase dosing when lights are on, sparging extra CO2 out of the system when needed, media that’s super pure and melts at a lower pH, controller that runs it all and even tells you if you have a peristaltic pump leak or CO2 leak, and just one knob to rule them all... turn knob up for more alk/ca supplementation, turn it down for less. I’m currently at setting 4 out of 10 and it’s keeping up with 320 total volume of SPS dominant tanks... heavy load. It’s rated for 525 gallons. I do use kalk in my topoff so that skews it a bit since that is adding alk/Ca as well.

It’s just been 4 days but I haven’t had to do a thing other than turn the knob up a bit from my low test setting.

Best part, check out that smooth line from the CaRX itself... no alk controller helping. I installed it on July 5th... there was an initial drop as I was testing it with a lower setting first and then once I cranked it to 4... smooth as butter.

That's just unreal! One of these days I'll get one haha I'm just in awe of just how well they're designed and everything that they've thought of!

The frag I got from has changed a little. The blue is less pronounced, but the yellow is really coming in. BTW I loving the 60mm (used it on this shot), it's much better for most top-down shots in my tank. Tho there are a few where the 105mm's reach is nice.

I’ll take more yellow any day. Mine is under 375-400 par Radion/T5 hybrid.

I love my 60mm but I agree, 90mm is great for really close up macros are to get a decent shot of a colony a little further away.

Thank you! He's finally almost to adult form. This was him just 3 months ago!

The change happened a lot quicker than I would have imagined!

I thought Imperator's were a no no for reef tanks. How is it working for you and what corals will it eat if it's in the tank? Very nice pics all around.
