How does that work mixing carbon and GFO? Doesn't GFO needs to tumble to work? Carbon is not suppose to tumble. Is it because of the smaller size of the RX it can tumble?
Gfo needs to tumble so the particles won’t bind together. If you mix rox with gfo, you can get away with a slower rate of flow as the rox helps keep the gfo from binding together. Rox is also supposed to be hard so it shouldn’t turn to dust when mixing with gfo.

Normally you want GFO to tumblr a bit and carbon to not tumble at all as it can create dust. Fortunately, the ROX Carbon is so dense that it can tumble fine and not create much dust. I don’t even bother rinsing the ROX Carbon as hardly any dust ever comes off it. You don’t want to do this with lignite Carbon... you’ll get dust everywhere.

BRS has a video on mixing GFO and carbon. I've been running it this way ever since I started using a reactor.

Time 5:38 for mixing instructions, 2/3 carbon to 1/3 GFO.

I'm loving the Pengs HOTO, and of coarse all the other corals. I still can't figure out how you remember all those names.
HOTO is definitely an eye catcher in real life. Beaming blue. My brain is filled with all kinds of useless reefing information. My wife would agree to that last statement.

I have a couple dozen sticks/colonies I can't name so hoping you can come by and remind me what I spent my kids' inheritance on. Think how useful you would feel. Would be like a cheap (but effective) therapy session.;)

Wow! Are the polyps that gold in person on the CC Voodoo Majick? I have always loved that piece. Do you have the CC Dreamcatcher?
They do have a nice gold look to them but are so tiny it’s hard to tell exactly.
