Alright the powerhead is in and doing great I think!

I am unsure how much i should turn it up so right now I have it at 50%

my poor fake plant doesn’t stand a chance I’ll have to take it out

Also I’ve been doing an experiment to see how my trigger does with shrimp.

I put (2) peppermint shrimp in the tank a couple weeks ago and they are doing great.

the shrimp come out during the day now and the trigger just looks at them.

now I know if the trigger gets hungry enough he may decide to take a chunk out.

but so far so good

We’ve got water!

I feel like it is slower than it should be but my pressure gauge isn’t here yet

wanted to make sure I set it up properly before putting it into its final resting place

Been trying different corals to see how they do.

so far everything has been doing great and has been fully open.

except…. My zoas.

I have 4 different frags of zoas

2 of the frags are wide open every day

but the other 2 are completely closed or only 1 or 2 polyps are open out of 8 or so.

I believe the other of the two that are closed is melting. It had 3 polyps but now I only see 2 polyps and it looks like those 2 are disappearing

I also realized that the SPS craze isn’t for me.

i 100% understand the appeal for them but there are very few I really like

I like digis, stylos, and Millies so I’ll be adding some of those but won’t be doing anything crazy

I would say my favorites are Acans, mushrooms, chalices, and euphyllias

So I love the current USA lights that I got but I am just not convinced that it is enough for the depth of my tank (its 24” deep)

so I got one of the viparspectra to put directly in the middle of the tank!

I will have to cut a hole in the top of my canopy but excited for the added light

The VIPARSPECTRA light showed up over the weekend.

I need to cut the top out of my canopy and add on a hanging bar. working on that slowly but surely

any suggestions on if I should just cut out the whole top? or just a small section and place the light in that cut out section?

I also added a couple rocks to the bottom for my mushroom gardens.

I am sure others do this. but I like to take plyers and slowly chip away until I get the shape I am looking for.
