I took out cuttings of my macros that I deemed clear of Valonia and Ulva...

And I put them in my restarted 10g as a holding tank while the DT is getting Flux treatment.

There's nothing else except old sand in the tank right now, no live rock or other media (although I think the sand/shells count).

For the past few days I've put a couple of drops of Tim's ammonia into the tank to feed the macros. I don't know if this works or is sufficient for the macros' needs. They will be in there for 6 weeks, likely. I also don't know what trace elements they will use up, but I can do water changes if needed. I don't want them to necessarily take off growing, but I don't want them to stagnate either.

Anyone have recommendations? Thanks!

You can add some fish food to break down for phosphate and ammonia. I like chaetogro for trace elements.
