Hey guys so I have a fluval evo 13.5 currently in cycle and very close to being done! Right now I have the stock fluval sponge filter with carbon and biomax. I recently bought the first chamber custom media basket and my question is how and when could I add this media basket and should I get rid of the stock sponge? Will it hurt my cycle? Want to run filter floss and chemi pure and maybe the biomax on one of the baskets! Would it be fine to add that stuff and the media basket right now ?

Hello my friend you're off to a great start! This is just my two cents. Chemipure and chemical filtration might be best served for later down the line. I'd add some seeded material from your lfs or a friend's cycled tank in the media basket. It's not a bad idea to add it now so you can compensate for how the basket and it's contents will affect your flow for later down the line if you want to add an ato or just keep a consistent level.

Ok so just add it’s with nothing in it for now ? Unless I can get some material from someone add that to the basket? Should I keep the sponge and biomax and carbon that came wit the tank when I bought it new ?

I would yes. You will probably need it down the line. There's no problem with keeping the sponge for now during cycling because I think it will work well in the nitrification process. But change to filter floss or pura pad squares down the line.
