I’m curious on what you think this is. I placed two clowns, a wrasse and a royal gramma in quarantine 2 days ago. The Royal gramma died overnight the first night. My wife and I first noticed the fin this morning.

That’s kinda what I was thinking at first but I’ve been sitting on the couch across the room and I haven’t seen the first bit of chasing today.

+1 The clowns looks very similar in size; possibly you have two females? Whenever I pair clowns, I buy a larger one, and then a baby/juvenile and wait for him to grow up. ;)

If aggression isn't the issue, then I would suspect a bacterial infection: https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/bacterial-infections.191511/

Agreed. These two have been together for over a year. I bought them from the LFS which was rehiring them as the previous owner had to move across the country.

Just to update. The fin is healing great. I’m pretty sure this was an aggression issue.
