Hello all,

I finally decided on the fish i want in my 32gal biocube and would like to read your thoughts. Currently, i have a royal gramma. I decided i want a longnose hawkfish, a clown pair and possibly a blenny. My only concern with the hawkfish is i know they eat shrimp/crabs, so ill have to keep that in consideration.

Given the dimensions of the 32 Biocube, I would suggest a Flame Hawk over a Longnose. A fantastic red color, by the way. Best wishes!

Sure! Both fish have that ‘lack of true swim bladder’ thing going on— meaning they will swim a bit, but then perch. Perch on rocks, perch on power-heads, frag racks, the bottom sand, you name it. But the Longnose can easily travel a 6’ tank (I had one in one), and I think without horizontal length, would get frustrated in a 32 Biocube. The good news is, the Flame Hawk (which, by the way, will grow to about only 1/3 the Longnose’s length), will enjoy going up and down and up and down. I took one out of my 150 and now have it in a 20, and he seems just as happy. Maybe watch some Flame Hawk videos, and check out how they swim. :)

You're the second person to recommend the flame hawk over the long nose so i might have to do that.
