Finally installed

Purchased a scratch and dent rev4 L4 4 months ago and it’s been sitting in the box. I finally had enough free time to break it out and see how it looks. Don’t see any scratches or dents so that’s a good sign!

Inspected everything and pieced it together. Unfortunately it won’t fit on my current sump setup... just not in the cards. My sump is packed and the tank is humming so I don’t want to mess with it too much right now but I will be using it on my next tank.

I’ve had some rock curing in my garage for close to a year now and rarely change the water out so I’m sure the nutrients are sky high so I figured why not let the scrubber start leeching out the phosphate from the rocks and knock down that nitrate so it doesn’t inhibit bacterial growth. I picked some hair algae off my present tanks overflow box and smeared it all over the mortar screen and fired it up! It’s way oversized but that’s ok. I’ll just ghost feed the tank heavily and really get the biomass heavy that way the fish can go directly in and it’ll be sps ready (hopefully) instantly upon setup! I used white pvc board which is anchored to the inside of the tank rim so they can’t slide around.

6 days later. That’s surprisingly fast progress. Didn’t expect it to grow anywhere near this quick. Less than a week from unboxing and used on a dry rock tank with zero light.
