Test is easy.

You shouldn’t be a trend for your tank and the phos in it. Just watch that trend with food now being “clean”.

You can also see if 1ml of strained food to 10 ml (or whatever) of new sw will show high levels of phos when tested.

Just remember, phos is still being added with food, just not near as much.
Correct yes.

This isn't a magic bullet, but if I can effectively remove 25%?? Of phos going in on the daily, I hope to be able to get it under control and within range.

Currently, I'm burning through gfo faster than my 500 ppm source water kills my DI resin.

This will hopefully be one step of a multi tier approach for long term stability.

As for the test. I think I will do a straining with all seven types of foods that I use in a given amount of water, keeping back the waste water. Stirring that at nauseum then adding it to 1 cup of pre tested fresh SW.

The total rise should give me the average phos saved from each cube. If the rise is too high, I can then dilute the sample 50% and try again.

And of you science nerds have any adds?

I'm TRYING!!!!

Nobody out here gets them but one spot. A few times they've had them come in and out the same day. I want to be able to be selective with quality but options are limited.

Still on the lookout for the metallic green hadoni carpet as well

@Eagle_Steve ??
I have zero knowledge of how it got face down in my 120, that I set up.. ?? I don't even remember buying it.

It was face down showing nothing but skeleton but I threw it in the frag tank anyways and within a few days there was a green tint.

Good job on the ID! You sir are correct.

thanks! Been trying to work on IDing species rather than trade names. Unless it’s something like the red dragon, raja rampage, etc which has a really lineage

You're red tree sponge looks awesome!

I've had one for about 9 months, but it isn't bumpy so I suspect it may be a different species. The tissue on mine periodically has turned pale and then recedes. I am wondering if you dose phyto or what you may doing for nutrition for the sponge? Thanks

So far I am doing nothing. It's on medium intermittent flow, medium light.

My tank as we see it is an old SOb. Its compromised of live rock with a minimum and e of 6 years, 50% was imported in the 70s and always wet. It can grow weird things...
