Hey Ya’ll !!!!
Pretty exciting news over here at Among The Reef! We got eggs for the first time and heck if I’m not gonna brag about it!

This pair of butterfly acquired from Japans finest Koji Wada have given us all something to get excited about for the first time ever! I knew yesterday the female was about to pop and I’m glad I caught her on video just fat and sassy!

It will take time to yield really healthy eggs but we are on our way. I’ll post a video of the female all plump and full of eggs. Then some photos of the eggs we collected the following morning and some photos of them under the scope.

Thanks to my staff Kris, Kyler, Peter and Nayt. To Jordan Yallen who had the vision. To Avier Mantalvo, Karen Brittain and Matt Wittenrich who are mentoring us along the way. It’s a process and we will be collaborating to make bringing captive raised wrought irons a reality.

happy to answer questions….enjoy the photos. More to come!

Can't wait to see more updates
We are getting tons of eggs often now but still no fertile ones. Patience is the key while they figure out how to make good ones. Everything looks positive with egg collection working perfectly and the quality of the eggs is also really good. Just a matter of time now:) Thanks Chad! We are stoked!

Wow any idea on the approx time to being sold?
We are still waiting for success on getting fertile eggs. Could take a few months so let’s all pray for success soon! I can tell Momma is about ready to pop again so it could be this week!

Well we finally had a breakthrough and had our first batch of fertilized eggs. Not enough to write home about but here is the first ever “fertilized” captive wrought iron egg to be seen.

Thanks Zionas. Once we have fish available I’m sure we can reach anywhere. Keep the positive thoughts going!
