Hi,
Great posts. I’m setting up the exact same tank in the next week or two once I have everything I need.
Are you happy with the heater, I’m looking to see what heater I want.
Thx

The BRS heater is great. I think it’s the most cost effective titanium heater you can buy. Although, it must be used with a controller because there are no internal electronics to regulate temp/on/off. Any heater should be paired with a separate controller anyways, regardless if it has a built in one.

Looking forward to see your build of this same tank too!

Following along setting up a similar size tank.

Btw which heavy duty suction cups did you and the wife used?
THESE are the suctions cups. Heavy duty on a budget :grinning-face-with-sweat:. I didn’t want to shell out $100 for a name brand one that will literally be used once.

The display tank weighs about 120lbs. It’s just not possible to place on the cabinet without suction cups because using your bare hands would mean your fingers are in the way when setting it down.

Will be subscribing to your build once you start it too!

I received a sizable load of corals from @AquaSD and @Tidal Gardens (thank you!). I haven’t had a chance to aquascape a structure yet so for now, they’re still temporarily on frag racks. This was the new haul:
  • Hammer
  • Alveopora
  • Favia
  • 2x Duncans
  • Blastomussa
  • Ricordea
  • Red Xenia
  • 3x Zoanthids
  • Micromussa
  • Discosoma

Another big haul from Riptide Aquaculture and Tidal Gardens (again)! I've also recently reduced white and red spectrum, while turning up the blues and UV.

My absolute favorite coral, and probably will be for a long time, is the Supernova Hammer. Stunning colors and vibrancy for a hammer. But the brightest ones are the Kryptonite Candy Cane and CB Flaming Bugatti Chalice. Looks as if they're radiating light.
  • Supernova Hammer
  • Sunburst Micro Goniopora
  • CB Flaming Bugatti Chalice
  • Temptation Micromussa
  • Rampage - 1 Micromussa
  • Rampage - 2 Micromussa
  • Area 51 Micromussa
  • Micromussa (no name?)
  • JF Top Fuel Favia
  • JF Red Ringers Zoa
  • Calypso Zoa
