Dinos are finally gone, now I have to deal with cyano. Corals seem much happier and coralline algae is starting to spread more quickly too. Added chaeto to the refugium to outcompete the cyano. (11/12)

Got some new corals online, a duncan frag (with 2 heads), a pavona cactus coral and a pink trumpet coral (1 splitting head). They all acclimated pretty fast and started to open up in the same day. I also got an emerald crab to deal with some bubble algae. (13/12)

Last photo of my tank before my 20 days trip. I took the most precautions possible, the only issue being I wasn't able to have someone feed my tank, so it would only be fed with pellets from my auto feeder. Unfortunately my cardinal bangai refuses to eat any dry food, so I had to feed him as much as possible before the trip and hope he made it. (06/01)

Got back from my trip. After cleaning the glass the tank looked like this: I was actually surprised at how good the tank fared with almost 3 weeks of no maintenance what so ever (at least its covered in hair algae, not cyano or dinos). No coral or invert died, however my cardinal died (as I suspected). I am still really upset it happened, but considering it's my first loss of any kind, I'm happy it wasn't worst and even happier the tank didn't crash (considering the only filtration in the tank was my refugium). Just discovered how to get actinics to really make my corals fluores. It bumped me up enough to make this post whiel in grief for my cardinal, S.I.P. (27/01)

Got my first euphyllia. I've been looking for any torch, hammer or frogspawn for a long time, but no store near me seems to carry them, fortunately one of them got a few torch frags yesterday and I grabbed one for myself, it was about 28 dollars (which probably wasn't worth it, since it isn't a super cool fluorescent torch, but I'm happy to finally have one). It's a very small frag, and the colors aren't that impressive, but it adds a lot of movements, and that was the main reason I grabbed one. (31/01)

12/March/2020 - Algae is still a major issue, but I was able to get some GFO, so it should get a bit easier.

11/April/2020 - Algae has gone down significantly, but my zoas were almost wiped out due to being suffocated by the algae.

17/April/2020 - Finally won my battle against GHA, some small bits are still left, but my CUC should deal with it ASAP. GFO definitely helped a lot with killing the majority of the algae.

May I ask you what specific things you did that you feel made the most difference in defeating the dinos? What were your parameters also like during the fade away of dinos.

Thanks

What seemed to help the most was just raising my nutrients. I got dinos when I still had a very small bio load, so I started feeding my fish a little bit more than they would eat. That seemed to have solve the issue. I didn't dose anything or added a UV sterilizer, just fed more and they went away.

27/April/2020 - Took advantage of the quarantine and got some new corals. A green torch, a sunny D Paly, a red people eater zoa and a small blastomussa colony. I also changed the placement of the corals, that's where they'l probably stay.

Any recommendations for corals that would look good in my scape very appreciated.
