I put one of the air valves on my 120, and it def helped there. I have an RO 202-s which seems to be oversized for the tank and bioload.

Still waiting on my new tank... WB said its scheduled to ship in the next two weeks. Yikes!

Sure, if you have an extra air valve (or something like it) you can drop it in the air return chamber (not sure what's its actually called) this will lessen the air going into the pump and give you more control.

If that doesn't work you can build a little stand out of egg crate to fine tune it even more. You want it to be high enough so that when you turn the water level control knob all the way down that it prevents it from overflowing no matter the water level, this will come in handy when you do water changes.

You can also put small markings on skimmer so it's easy to return to your exact see tings once you've tuned it.

I've attached pictures of how I have mine set up including a picture with the water level I have it running at.

Once you get it going you should have a consistent flow of thick foam at the top of the collection cup and you want your bubbles breaking right before they enter the neck of the skimmer.

I typed this out quickly so I'm sure I have typos lol. Ask me any other questions you have :)

Find a photo of mine attached. I'm confused because yours appears much higher in the water than mine but your ruler measures the same ? I'm gonna try raising it for sure

Looks like I'm at about 6 to 6 1/2 inches deep; my stand is about 2 inches high (the stand was probably hard to see in the photos from yesterday).

Just measured again and the skimmer is 6 1/2 inches deep. If you have some plastic Tupperware you can try sitting the skimmer on that to see how it works.

For the valve In silencer how did you get it to stay in there ? Did you glue it ? Or use like a rubber band or something ?
Just sit in inside the silencer. Don't glue it or anything because when you do water changes you will take it out and lower the water level on the skimmer (this prevents overflowing). Works perfectly.

I don't think it sits tight enough to restrict any flow when just sitting
