Hey guys, new to the saltwater hobby so excuse me for not being informed too much. My wife let it slip that I’m getting a fluval 13.5 for a gift later on this month. I started to buy equipment to prepare for it. I started off buying and aqua top 50 watt heater along with the fluval cp1 for some extra movement in the water. Are these suitable for this tank? I plan on having maybe 2 clowns and a clean up crew and maybe so corals. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Does she realize what she has done? Im not familiar with that tank so I dont have much to add other than you may want to look into an ATO unless it has a lid and even then I would consider an ATO. other than that some live rock and sand and you have a tank! Congrats.

I don’t think she has any idea haha. I already started looking into ATO’s after I heard “ATO is the way to go” a bunch of times. I have huge list of stuff saved on amazon right now. I’m gonna take it to a couple LFS around me to see what they have to offer.

Here’s a picture of it as it cleared up. Also I moved the wave maker after I noticed it pushing all the sand to one side of the tank.

I put my CP1 in the same tank, right below the overflow grill... Seems fine. Has came un-suctioned a few times which is annoying. Clean surface clean with a razor first if your tank is used...Seems like a good powerhead though.
