What’s up everyone. I am brand new to a saltwater aquarium and looking for as much advice as possible.

To start I have a 36gal, Tidal 75 filter, 2 wave makers, lots of rock, coral sand, heater and a Phlizon 165W Dimmable Full Spectrum Auqarium LED Light. How does that sound. (No fish yet)

pics to come!!!

Welcome to the party! How long has this beaut been cycling? I'm sure you can have an awesome reef with the equipment you have although I've never gone the HOB filter route and you may need to upgrade your light down the road for SPS coral. You should wander over to the "Meet and Greet" section and introduce yourself. There are a lot of great folks here who would love to meet you. Glad to have you with us and looking forward to seeing those pictures.

I'm getting ready to set up my first SW tank, too! Your plan sounds very similar to mine. I have a 29g and I will be using a Tidal 75, 2 powerheads (not sure what kind yet), an Ehiem 100w heater with a digital temperature controller, dry and live rock and live sand. I look forward to reading about your build as it progresses :)

Here it is everyone. Now to decide whether to do a predator tank or friendly tank. Any advice?

Nice rustic look! I usually lean toward a community tank with smaller tanks. What fish, corals, or inverts are you passionate about?

Had my tank going for about a 3 1/2 weeks. Fish been in a week. Just added the rest of the live bacteria this morning and when I came home tonight this is what I see all over the tank. Brown spots. Is this good, bad, any idea what it is?
