I have had this guy for about half a year now and got him off of craigslist. was sold as a gold puffer but I was a but skeptical.

Has very dog face ish look could pass for a gold but its in a bit of a funky area.

hoping someone new exactly what he is or to confirm if he is a gold puffer or not.

my suspicion is that he is a yellow belly dogface.

Either your guess, yellow belly dogface (Arothron nigropunctatus) or Arothron meleagris, yellow phase.

It is an Arothron nigropunctatus, but not a yellow belly variety. Their colors can range from grayish, yellowish, and brownish tones.
