I have a 45 gal cube with sump. Currently I have 2 clowns, an ornate leopard wrasse, a diamond goby, a couple of Banggai cardinals, and 6 snails of various kinds. I’m looking for a splash of color for the next few additions: yellow, blue, and red. I can use your advice on my selections. Here are some of my ideas:
1. Purple firefish: I love the beautiful colors for these fish. My concern is that they may be a bit timid. Any issues with them getting bullied?
2. Blue chromis: I believe these like to be in groups. How many is recommended for a tank my size? An alternative is the blue-green chromis. Any considerations for one kind over another?
3. Something yellow: lemon damsel or black bar chromis? Alternatively a royal gramma for a splash of yellow.
4. Red: I’m thinking flame hawk fish or long nose hawk fish. Fun personality. Possum wrasse is another option. If I don’t do the hawk fish route, I may get a shrimp.
Realistically how many more fish can I stock for my tank before it gets crowded?
Thanks!
