I also can't stand Cardinals or Anthias. They look like cheap bait fish, have zero personality and remind me of Tetras in FW that just sit in one spot like morons.

Wrasses at least have interesting behaviour.

My favorite captive SW fish *by far* are Marine Bettas. Not only are they spectacular to look at they can be trained to take food out your hand. I had one I tamed like this once and neighbor kids would come over just to look at the thing.

I am actually kinda “meh” about the betas. Kind of think they are, ugly. :-(

I’m gonna go out on a limb and say you may be mixing up species of jellies and both you described being stung by are extremely dangerous and lead to severe health complications following being stung by them.
Not mixing up species. It’s well known and documented in Hawaii. I’ll leave an article about box jellyfish. We also get moon jellies which are cool and don’t sting. They’ll just float on the water and don’t sting. I’d occasionally pick them up and throw them off to the side. As for man-o-wars, they’re not true jellyfish and we’d only see them on windward parts of the island. They’ve got nasty stings. But out of all the times I’ve been stung, no health problems. They’re all harmless. If you grew up in Hawaii, you know what I mean.

As a kid growing up on the Gulf of Mexico, I have been stung quite a few times by Man-O-War. Depends on the size of it and how big the sting is as to what kind of damage it will do. They won’t kill you unless you bathe with them. Other than a nasty sting, I’ve never suffered any long term complications from them although a neighbor’s dog died after eating one.

Yep... this is them!

I’ve been stung by so many of those. When the weather is windy, they blow in to shore. At certain beaches in Hawaii, it’s not uncommon to see dozens of these at a time. You usually get stung just walking on the sand. When we were young, we’d pick them up and pop the air sack.

Harlequin Sweetlips panther grouper Foxface Heniocus ( fake morish idol)
Juvenile harlequin sweetlips are probably my favorite fish! But I definently see, and agree, why people do not like the adult version
