I have a few photos of not the best quality.

Hyposalinity needs to run for 30 days. I see some spots on the fish, but I can't see if they are ich trophonts or just mucus plugs from the skin irritation of having had ich.

I do see some ripped fins, this is coming from tankmate aggression, but that can be tough to track down, as while you are watching the fish, they stop and watch you back. Also, the aggression may only happen once or twice in 24 hours, so is easy to miss. You can sometimes infer who is fighting who by watching the fish - if you see one fish shy away from another, that is probably due to past aggression. Another trick is to set up your phone to video the tank then leave the room. The fish may feel more free to fight with you out of the room.

Hey. Unfortunately, Tangs are aggressive and actually chase other fish. I know that Hypo is counting since the symptoms disappear, but Hepatus has spots all the time in the same place. Today, he also had two new ones. The salinity does not increase above 1.009 I check 5 times a day xD so it must be those mucus plugs.

Hey. I'm doing Hypo treatment and today is day 16. Hepatus still has some spots. Rather in the same places but new ones have also appeared. Salinity is at a constant level - 1.009, I'm worried that it might be Velvet and Hiposalinity won't work :(

You're correct, hyposalinity does not cure velvet.

Velvet doesn't show as spots, but will cause severe rapid breathing, not eating and sometimes hovering in water currents. It causes fish loss in a day or so after these symptoms are usually noticed. Are you seeing that?

I haven't noticed these symptoms. He has an appetite, eats as always. He doesn't breathe rapid but it's hard for me to see it because he's very fast. I don't have a circulator in QT so I can't see it. The water current is only created by the cascade filter, the Hepatus floats around the entire aquarium. I've had him for 3 months, is it possible that Velvet didn't show symptoms earlier?

I'm just not seeing signs of velvet here. I think these are just benign mucus plugs.

However, I'm not sure what you mean that the "hepatus floats around the entire aquarium". Do you mean it swims, or does it just drift around?

I meant that he swims. Sorry for the language mistakes. Hepatus is sleeping on the heater so I took a picture of him in the light of the flashlight. These spots are sticking out and looks like small cones.
He is being chased a lot by Powder Tang. Today he stayed in his hideout the whole time.

thanks for your help. I know this is not the right thread but could you help me? I have a new Chelmon in QT and he has had some white bumps for 1.5 weeks. They do not grow or disappear. and today I noticed that he has some tiny white spots on his tail. you can't see it in the pictures because it's too small. in real life I have to look very closely. could this be the beginning of ich? no other symptoms, he has appetite.

hey. Hepatus keeps popping up spots. this time much more numerous. salinity is consistently 1.009 and I keep a close eye on it several times a day. is it possible that it's some resistant strain of ich?
@Jay Hemdal please, could you take a look at it with your professional eye?
it seems to me that he is swim as if he was hard for her to stay afloat. he moves his fins very quickly.

Those are mucus plugs. There is no “resistant ich” - all cases I’ve tracked down are either mucus plugs or the person wasn’t doing hyposalinity properly (but you are).

thank you. I am very worried about my fish. I have already ruined the copper treatment once. Can I somehow help Hepatus with mucus plugs?

I recorded a video, I have the impression that Hepatus has a hard time swimming. They was chased a bit by a Blue Powder Tang and an Angelfish, so maybe her fins are damaged?

In the video, I can't see the spots, but it is really stressed out - breathing fast and sculling its fins. Trouble is, I have no way to tell you what the stressor is.....

I'm watching but I don't see anyone chasing him now. I have no idea why he's stressed. But I noticed something bad is happening because today Angelfish has a swollen cloudy eye. I don't know how to help him.

One cloudy eye can be from an injury. Two cloudy eyes is either two injuries (rare) or can indicate flukes. One issue is that an eye injury could be from the fish scratching due to some irritation, or it could be from being chased and having run into something.

Is the angel still eating? If so, I would just observe for now.

Angelfish swim and eat normally. Could flukes be in Hyposalinity? Hepatus has some spots bigger than ich and mucus plugs. Maybe my refractometer is calibrated wrong and something slipped?
I calibrates with Rodi water

Flukes die out in hyposalinity also.
Refractometers can read “off” - can you confirm it using a second hydrometer?

today is day 25 in the hypo, the fish are doing well. some are still rubbing. Hepatus has skin in bad condition, Angelfish's eye is healing, Damsel was probably beaten because he has gaps in his scales. leucotaenia is rubbing today but I don't see any spots. only 10 more days.. let's just hope they survive.
all fish have too much appetite xD
