I have recently been able to acquire a few of my dream fish: regal Angel, rose banded wrasse, flame wrasse, Achilles tang. It seems like my list grows and it’s always just one more. These are my current wish list:
1. Lineatus wrasse
2. Golden rhomboid wrasse
3. Borbonius anthias
4. Gem tang
5. Ventralis anthias

If I had unlimited cash flow, I’d fulfill my list.

We all have those fish that we would love to have in our reef tank and for one reason or another we don't have one. Maybe it would eat all your coral or maybe the price tag is too high! Whatever the reason is this "fish" has become the fish of your dreams. Let's talk about it today and why you can't have one!

1. What is the fish of your dreams?

2. What are the reasons you can't have your dream fish?

A black tang I would love to have a beautiful black tang. I finding them is hard enough affording them is even harder.

Achilles all day long. I had one but lost it to velvet. Hard day. With the Hawaiian ban now it’s looking less likely I’ll get one any time soon.

I would love to keep an eel in my tank at one point. Ever since joining the hobby I’ve been drawn towards them but just don’t have the right size tank for one.

Leopard Wrasse. Love that fish and wanted one since I first got into the hobby 6 years ago but heard they were for experts. After 6 years I thought I'd try and bought two as a pair. I did lots of research and followed the best advice on QT, meds, sand, etc. One died in QT after about 10 days and the second appears to be on her way out. Sad and disappointing but I'll probably let myself try one more time. Others have success with them.
Don’t quit it certainly can be done. I’ve had a ton of luck with those and feel like they shouldn’t be “expert only”

Achilles tang

The cost. $100 is my price limit on a fish.
With ya...my budget is set strictly at 100 max (although I've been lucky last decade or so to have some really long lived ones that were purchased all of them less than 60) ... Lose one that's over that price point and its soul crushing not only for the loss, and what you put into it, but the wallet here as well lol

A lot of beautiful wrasses here. I’m sure I could find one to pine over with a little research.

Off the cuff, I’d have to say Achilles Tang and a Regal Angel.

Everyone I've ever talked to and every forum I've read on them pretty much says they will "eventually" become territorial in small tanks and become tank terrors. I know every fish is different but I'd feel terrible for my current fish and I'd probably never be able to catch it if I got one like that
How big is your tank? In a bigger tank 6 lines are great because they have lots of space and dont bother others.
