Flame angel with eye issue

Have a flame angel with a white marking/issue with its right eye. Fish is currently in a 29g undergoing the current qt protocol, day 20 of copper treatment.

Copper this morning was 2.5
Sg: 1.024
Temp: 76.6
Seachem ammonia badge: 0

Breathing seems fine, and I don’t notice any other issues with other fish in qt. The angel did eat today when fed.

I see what is an eye injury and possible retina damage and should be treated immediately using Maracyn as pictured for at least 5 days. I assume this isa quarantine tank.

Yes this is a qt tank, can the maracyn be dosed along with the copper? Or do I need a separate tank?

While I do not favor mixing both - You can. Be sure to add air stone for added oxygen and monitor ammonia level with a Reliable ammonia test kit such as Hanna or salifert brand

@vetteguy53081 three days of treatment with the erythromycin, the white is completely gone only looks a little protruded. If protrusion still exists, would you do a second round of 5 days? The fish has returned to normal swimming and is not hiding as much.

Unfortunately, don’t think flame angel is going to make it. Finished copper treatment and dosed Prazi yesterday. This morning found angel alive but struggling and sucked against filter intake.

Would this likely be a fluke infection that caused secondary eye infection? Survived 30 days in copper with only the eye issue, ate swam normally otherwise. All four other fish in qt appear normal today.

Also, I believe the sand container might be leaching copper back as well. Just tested and it’s up to 1.59, was below 1. I did a 20 gallon water change, changed out the sand, waited a day then dosed prazi. Tank has HOB filter, 2 airstones and pump aimed at surface so O2 depletion shouldn’t be the issue. Although on my other setup, I added a third airstone with prazi, and water is high so HOB isn’t dropping water far on its return.

Somehow the fish is still alive, body completely sunken, and not swimming. Added another air stone as a Hail Mary.

Flame angel died, will check copper levels tomorrow.
