I am starting a Clownfish Harem tank. I have started this thread to hopefully help others and show my failures and successes.
The tank:
180 Gallon 5x2x2.25
New Custom Sump (Going in in about 3 days)
Sump has 25 Gallon Fuge with Kessil h380

Equipment:
1x Gyre Xf250
2x MP10 WQD
4x Kessil A360WE
Apex 2016 and AFS
160 Watt UV Sterilizer (Custom Made)
1/2 HP Chiller
2x Media Reactors (Don’t know what is going in them yet)

Stocking:
25 Mocha Clowns (Same clutch, all under 1.5”)
8” Blue tang (Don’t know if I will keep)
4” Longhorn Cowfish
Very diverse CUC, and a sand sifting star
12 BTAs
Very large Soft Coral
Some LPS
1 SPS
8” Maxima Clam

So I have a tank, 20”x20”x20”, with a few BTAs. I am thinking that I will put all the clowns in that tank to get them used to Nems and then transfer them to the 180 after a few days. Good idea? Bad idea?

Here is my one big feeding I do, once every 3 days, a mix of music, octopus, brine, and phytoplankton. This is in addition to my 3x daily auto feeder with 2 rotations.
I have been able to handle it all with 0 phosphate and minimal algae growth. I am running a DIY algae reactor (super low power lights) that has done a pretty good job at keeping it out of the DT, but I am setting up a 20 gallon Fuge with a kessil h380 that will hopefully be great for the clowns.

I will be watching this thread. Something about a bunch of clowns and anemones just gets me. You need more anemones. Have you checked out the BRS clown harem or Meleve's Reef clown and anemone tank? Very cool and great examples to go by. Sadly BRS took down the clown harem but some lucky person won the system, I wonder what happened to the black and white clowns and anemones in the tank.

I am picking up 2 more 8” BTAs, but I have not yet been able to find someone who is selling a lot of cheap BTAs
