Flexible PVC to schedule 80/40 fittings without barbs?

Can I connect one inch flexible pvc (from marine depot) to any schedule 40/80 fitting? It says on the tag 1 1/4 OD and 1 ID which is the same as regular PVC. I'm using PVC glue...and I fit one...but it's just not a tight fit like it is when you push pvc pipe into a fitting like that. I see posts of people using barbs...and I thought I could avoid using them.

Yeah...I'm currently on BRS ordering spigot / barb fittings.

Spa flex from HD/Lowes will glue to it's corresponding PVC just fine. If you need to use flexible PVC, that's what I'd use.

Thanks for the idea. I'd rather not use barbs if at all possible...as (I'm no expert) it just seems like using barbs is restricting the flow to some extent.

Looks like my local places have some in 1inch ID...but I don't think they make it in 3/4 ID.

why not get the correct flex pvc? I used ultra flex from Home Depot when I plumbed my EXT 100

I see home depot has something called "Flexible Spa Tubing". 1 in ID

Lowes calls it "Spa Flex Hose". 1 in ID

I used the same but got it from AMZ and used 1 1/4”. Great stuff, esp if you are doing a basement sump. No hard 45 or 90 degree elbows.

Yep, exact same application as if it was standard, rigid schedule 40 Pvc.

Sounds like exactly what I need. I really don't want to use barbs. I'm going to use some silicone tubing (with barb) from pump to the bulkhead on the Trigger Systems Sump...then this flexible pvc from there to my next fitting up the line.

It’s the only wat to go esp for long runs with lots of twists and turns.

I used Oatey medium cement.
