Must of been, all the post I can see are from my old uk account where someone suggested Meredithia as a possibility, I just couldn’t find a matching taxonomy.I'm not too sure. I think that is Platoma ardreanum, it is considered a desirable macroalgae. You could grow it and trade it to people. There is also Ulva and Boergesenia or Valonia. I can't find a good image online of PLatoma when it is expressed like that for you to match it too, but I used to hunt this algae down when I thought I would grow it out.
Emeralds and Pithos are compatible with each other. They should take it out, I think Platoma has a chemical in it that makes it unpalatable to some herbivores. Fish at least, I am not sure if the crabs will eat it. I wouldn't doubt it, but I haven't had this come up before. It is supposed to be common in the wild (South Pacific) but it rarely shows up on liverock or in the hobby.
All the Best,

I’ve always had a suspicion between halimenya dilatada and frilly halymeniaJohn sent me a couple more links. I think we're getting closer.
Halymenia dilatata
Subtidal, 1.5 m deep (Song Lo Bay, Nha Тrang City, Vietnam). April 2006.www.imb.dvo.ru
That’s growing well, I think spectrum has a big influence on the crazy colour she gives.Growth update. Been a little over a month in the frag tank. Seems to have lost it's flouresence. Par is significantly more intense in the display. Wonder if that has anything to do with it.
When it gets a little bigger, I'm going to tear off a small piece and place it back in the display.
Ya most likely. Display is 14kish with only deep blues late evening. Frag tank more like 20kThat’s growing well, I think spectrum has a big influence on the crazy colour she gives.
It makes sense mine used to do the best around 11kYa most likely. Display is 14kish with only deep blues late evening. Frag tank more like 20k
Excited to get a piece back in there.
Looking good! I can see the tips coloring up. What kind of lighting are you running? This one is from the same family, it’s at the back of the tank can’t do a good focus but you can see it starting to colour up in the tips since it’s been in the new tank that is kept around 11k
