I definitely like to see movement, it’s very relaxing to watch. I upgrading my pumps and now have oscillating currents that make them more wavy. My favorites are alveopora and goniopora

So far this teal wall frogspawn is my favourite from all of our tanks. It’s about the size of a softball when fully extended

Just getting back into corals after giving up for a while and so excited!

I don't care that much for movement as I love SPS. I do have some long polyp Sarcophytons and a Yellow Fiji Leather to add some movement to my tanks though.

I love corals that move! Whether it's a full on monster pulsing xenia or the tiny ripple of polyps on a monti, it's all mesmerizing!

1. What is your most favorite "flowing coral?" Photos will get you bonus points!

Such a tough question! I love them all differently! Family consensus, though, is Duncan. If I had known about Duncan's when I first got into this hobby I might have made an all Duncan tank. Not a lot of bright colors but Duncans are still super cool.

Movement is one of my favorite things about corals. My first tank was all softies. Toadstool, Kenya Trees, Xenia, GSP. It looked so alive even with just those few corals.

My current tank has a couple dozen corals (softies LPS SPS), and they all dance in one way or another. Even my mystery acro puts on a show.

It's all so amazing and alive. I love polyps!

I started as a fish person. Hide the credit card, I want more corals!

For me there’s a balance. I don’t want to have a tank where it looks like everything is moving but I also don’t want everything stagnant. In my current 20 gal I would like to have 2-3 euphyllia/goni’s around my SPS

Euphyllia movement is my favorite.

It is important. It is a visual indicator of flow intensity. My new tank gets a lot of sun throughout the day, and when it hits the tank, you can see the particles in the water being moved by the flow. This helps ensure the tank inhabitants are being delivered food.

Does lots of sun make lots of algea

The tank gets sun shining down into the tank for a few hours every afternoon. It doesn't seem to have caused any issues I was expecting. Instead, my daily glass cleaning is enough. I don't have problems with algae on the rock or sand (yet??).

I did have some problems with brown algae showing up on the sand and rockscape for a few weeks prior, however. I believe that was due to my high phosphates (I overfeed) and low nitrates. I added a protein skimmer last week and it has all but gone away. The sun didn't seem to impact its growth, but then again I've never tried to shield the tank from the sun.

I have this crazy translucent sun coral that came as hitch hiker on gulf rock.
Oddly enough it will spread its fingers when flow is just right which happens to coincide with what my shrooms are able to tolerate. Also a very important coral that helps me guage when something is wrong. Has a sweet spot for alk around 8.0-8.5 and let's me know when its slipping or drifting automatically.

Cup Coral!
Mouth looks right. Are sun corals and cup corals often called the same thing? I did start a thread back in the day to try and get id on it and consensus was sun coral lol Mouths look identical almost.
Cool whatever it is:)

My flowing corals are my favorites, and get the most comments from visitors.
1. Pulsing xenia, long on the rear wall
2. Goniopora and alveopora.
3. Long tentacled torches

Will try for a shot/movie tomorrow when lights are on.
