So I’ve had a Fluval 13.5 for 3 months, and I am ready to upgrade. So today I ordered the SCA 50 gallon! At a great price. So I figured I’d do it right and also ordered:
- jebao sine wave return pump
- hydros control 4
- gfo reactor
Looking to the Red Sea Led 90 for it since I had the 50 on my Fluval and liked it.
Any recommendations for me so far in regard to this new build. I’d love some cord management ideas, I’ve looked here but I don’t have slot of space.
Thanks!

Rock Stack custom!!
Watched BRS NSA video, used super glue, insta set and then Marco mortar!
Go thin with the mortar, I actually used a 60cc syringe to suck it up and inject it into the joints worked amazing!

Then I started to work in the Stock SCA 50 SUMP!
Filter sock because I haven't smartened up yet!
Stock Skimmer which is a bit loud...
Refuge section in the middle, I moved over some bio media from the Fluval
Double pump design with custom manifold. ( Reef Octo and Jebao)
Manifold will also expand to allow for UV Sterilizer and reactor down the road. Left the end open to so I can use on a bigger tank some day!
HYDROS CONTROL 4!!!!! that I love. Temp and pH, and two control wifi strips to control it all!

Then tank, water, lights....
Custom rock work, then water made with Red Sea Salt Coral Pro, and CaribSea live sand. I did add a few cups of sand from my Fluval to seed the new sand. Instant bacteria of choice.
Topped off with a New Radion XR 15 G5.
After a few days coral moved over placed on the bottom when I could, most of the live rock from the old tank just temporarily. Radion is set to acclimation also, don't shock those corals!

Put that Coral away! or In its new forever home.
I love the way this tank is coming along. So much more room to create my own slice of ocean.
From hardware to livestock for my Fluval and now my SCA 50 Low Tide Corals has been my go-to place.
I prefer aquaculture, and they do just that. And can get me any and all of my other needs.
