Hi all.

I’ve been working and working to get my tank turned around after years of Dino and algae. I’m almost there. I have done Vibrant, Microbacter, and Tim’s. Nothing worked on the turf algae.

I got Flux Rx and wow what a difference. I was worried after 10 days since I still saw some algae. Today it’s all gone.

Here are some pics 9/27, and this is only a small portion of my problem.

The bottom 3 pics are today after using FluxRx

Oh well. So much for your experiment with the in-tank algae scrubber solution!

Seriously though, congratulations for finally winning that battle!!!

I agree, I've used it a few times. And it's always worked never had any issues even with high end sps. The only issue is your po4 will spike like crazy. I'm 4 weeks in on my treatment (seems like I wind up doing it once a year(I have alot of sunlight in my living room) my po4 is usually around .08-.12 right now it jumped to .40 so today I'm gonna do a large water change and reintroduce the fluc to the changed water volume so I dont loose the potency. Hoping if I keep the po4 down this time itll stop a regrowth.. I've run gfo but seems like every time I do my corals fade out for weeks

Hi

Where did you get it from?

I have a big turf algae issue (you commented on my thread from tonight, which brought me here) and people have been recommending reeflux from brs, but it states specifically that it doesn’t work on turf or hair algae. It would also cost me close to $120 to treat my tank for two rounds.

Here’s hoping the fluxrx gets better reviews against turf

Thanks!

I said same thing about it on turf algae. It didn’t mention it on the box. I have a 180, dosed once and I have left over. 2 notes though. I currently did not have acro or sensitive coral. My invers and softies were fine. Don’t panic like I did if you still see algae after 10 days. Day 14 was the best and water change was it.

Another big key is have the right CuC to keep the algae away once under control or it can come back.

Here’s today

Jusybkeep.an eye on po4 as you use this, it works amazingly. But my phosphates went from .03 to .50 in about 2 weeks using this. The funny thing is my acros really colored up hah. I did run gfo for a few weeks to remove the released phosphates and after doing a water change I have not had it return. And my colors stayed.

Great point, plenty of air/surface agitation also

thanks for the info

To clarify- you used only 1 box in the 180? That dose is for 100 gallons according to the instructuons. I saw that and was about to buy 3 boxes- for 240 gallon system volume

right now I only have a few softies- been holding off on sps until I clear my algae issues.

Thanks

Amazon does too, but I was wondering if hen used it at stated dosage, or just used 2000mg for his 180

I miss on day 10 of my fluxRX dosing and the turf algae has turned dark green, and started lifting in some areas.
I was wondering if you thought adding a partial dose - maybe 1/3rd- at this point to really step it up for the next few days would be of any benefit ?

I've been trying to get rid of this stuff for so long now. I've had almost every kind of the common type of algae that pops up in reef tanks and was able to rid my tank of those, but I'm at my wits end with this. I did do a Reef Flux treatment before and it looked like it was working because I noticed the algae becoming pale and receding in certain spots but it came back eventually.
I'm presently doing another Reef Flux treatment and once it's done after the 14 days this weekend I plan on doing the WC and manually removing as much of the turf algae I can and then doing a second round of the treatment. I'm hoping that the second round knocks it back enough that I can then set up the ATS that I ordered to out compete the turf algae, hopefully this works out.

Doesn't look too bad in these pics but it has spread considerably
since these were taken.
