Just like the title says i found something ive never seen before in my tank. Its kid of like a slug or a snail with no shell. Operates just like a slug would IMO but these are the pictures that i managed to get of it. Can anyone tell me what i am looking at ?

It has a shell it's just small and a similar color to it's foot, it's a stomatella snail. Very good clean up crew to have.

/But I think I see a bulb of bubble algae right below the snail.

Is it moving? I think I have seen something similar on a crab in my tank! I hope it isn’t anything bad!

Thank you,i wonder how he appeared. ive not put any actual live rock in this system and its been running 4.5 years with me having it over a year.
They're nocturnal so it's not too hard to imagine you just never happened to see one until now.

Your absolutely right. When i was a total rookie i would of had a panic attack, i learned very quickly that ill never really know what i have in my tank being that the first several did use old school live rock. These days if it isnt eating something or trying to kill something i dont care. THe more the merrier
