This is the second time I’ve seen this identical “thing” in my tank. The first time it just disappeared without me knowing where it went. Well it came back in the same exact place, same exact shape. Unfortunately I didn’t get pictures in the tank but it looked like a clump of sand in a kidney shape about 1.5 inches long by 3/4 inch wide and about a half inch thick. When I touched it with my aquarium tool it definitely was a solid clump of sand. When I pulled it out it came out in a clump. I’m attaching a picture of it in the cup I put it in. There appears to be white strings throughout the sand. Eggs of some sort maybe? Any help is appreciated. Doesn’t seem harmful as the first time it just disappeared with no known I’ll effects to my tank.

No poriferan sponge which over time can become evasive
Pull by hand or scrape off with something like edge of a credit card

Ok, thanks. I pulled the clump out of my sand and disposed of it. I’ll keep an eye out for more.
