I can't now. I thought about it. Before I tossed it out. Sorry, but honestly the color of it is pretty close in the pics. It is kind of a pink fleshy bottom. Thought maybe a snail, then a bristle worm, but the more I looked the less that seemed likely. Since it's the second one in my sock in two weeks, getting a bit nervous.

It’s a short bristleworm, like any worm in the world they can stretch out or contract. Totally safe, I’ll pull about a dozen a week out of my filter socks.

On second look the first photo does resemble a big amphipod, that red lighting is making it look like a bristle

I have bristle worms and see them often, this does not look like the ones in my tank. I do have lots of copepods but not this size. Thanks for looking. So far nothing in the tank seems affected or stressed so I'll have to assume this is not a bad thing
