FOODS & FEEDING: The Foureye Butterflyfish can be difficult to feed, but may consume vitamin enriched live brine shrimp, clam, or mashed squid or shrimp on a bleached stony coral skeleton. Once eating, the fish may be offered crustacean flesh, mysid shrimp, and frozen preparations for carnivores. Food must be finely chopped and this species should be fed a minimum of 3 times per day.
REEF COMPATIBILITY: This species will eat stony coral and gorgonian polyps.
CAPTIVE CARE: The Foureye Butterflyfish can be difficult to feed and should be kept with peaceful tank mates that will not compete for food. Male/Female pairs can be kept together, but members of the same sex most likely will quarrel. They are mostly peaceful towards other tank mates with the exception of other butterflyfish. Juveniles have two eye spots on the back of the body and dorsal fin until they reach 1 inch (3 cm)in length.
