Today when I was placing some frags in my tank, I noticed something white hanging from his bottom jaw. I thought at first that maybe he somehow got superglue stuck to him from the frags I had just placed, but when I looked closer, it appeared as if the skin was peeling off the lower jaw. Any idea what this could be??

These are difficult pics to work with. Very fuzzy and dark
Please retake under white lighting and assure glass is clean

Herbivorous fish biting at uncured cyanoacrylate glue is a real issue. It looks like that is a distinct possibility. Another option is that while you were working on the tank, the foxface got scared and hit a rock and damaged its jaw.

Can we assume the white spots in the picture are on the glass and not on the fish?

Let us know if the fish is still eating o.k.

Yes, the fish does not appear to have any white spots on it's body and spots in the photos are floating sediment that I kicked up while relocating a rock. Despite his injury he seems to be doing well as he is eating and exhibiting normal behaviors.
