Fragging is an ability that many reefers aspire to have. It can be a beneficial tool in the hands of a responsible and careful reefer. If you have some excess growth of a particular coral, frag it! If you want to share the wealth, frag it! If you are sick and tired of that one coral invading your aquascape, frag it! Fragging can also be challenging and even dangerous, depending on the coral.

Have you ever fragged coral? What was the outcome of that frag?

zoas I am pretty confident about. I do not feel comfortable cutting branches of Euphyllia. I think I need that frag saw for it unless someone does otherwise with success.

generally confident with my ability to frag SPS/softies. LPS, depending what it is, i hesitate on if it needs a band saw (as i don't have one, or tools that can make clean cuts outside of the "bone cutter" types we tend to use)

Can you sell the frags to LFS? I might want to do that in the future if it is possible...
Absolutely. Sometimes they prefer it instead of buying a wholesale order. Just talk to them and ask.

All the time! Sell my corals at local swaps and use the money to buy new pieces. I rarely take home a profit from any show, but I like taking old stuff and turning it into new.

I have to frag my Ora green birds nest constantly. Sadly, none of my LFS want the frags and I can only glue so many into another colony so they now go in the trash. Anyone in charlotte NC want some Ora green birdsnest frags?

My fish do all the fragging for me :p. If it’s a big enough piece that they knock off then I’ll glue it to a plug and plant it in a new spot in the tank. At some point I would like to find a local club to attend and start doing frag swaps.
