I just bought a frag tank and need to buy an LED light for it. This is my first LED purchase as I've got MH's and T5's on my main tank so I'm hoping for some advice. Ideally, I'd like to buy a lightly used LED off of someone from Reef2Reef but I'm not sure what I'm looking for. My tank size is 30x12x12. My plan right now it to keep primarily zoas, shrooms and lps. At some point, maybe I'll add a few sps frags from my main tank. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Short narrow tank like that I’d be putting led strips over it. Not pucks. Either a couple Orphek bars hung high. Or a couple reef brites right on the tank.

Is the tank size actually 30x12x12? Just wanted to clarify for my answer. I would do Led bars if so. My lowboys are 48x24x10, I use 2 hydra 26 for the one that is acros and lps and 2 Orphek compacts with 2 led bars for the one that is all acros.

Thanks for the advice. The dimensions are accurate. It's just a 20g long aquarium that the guy I bought it from drilled and converted into a frag tank.

I have 20L as my main SPS / LPS softie tank. I use a typical 160w black box with lenses removed and it covers 3/4 with perfectly diffused light that's distributed as well as any T5 or strip. It's your cheapest option that get's the job done. Maybe 10" above the tank.

If you leave the lenses on that will work but you would have to raise the light about 3' above the tank for full coverage.
