Freshwater Quarantine Protocol?

@Jay Hemdal do you have a standard protocol for new freshwater fish such as african cichlids?

Quarantine the same way you would marine. Keep them in a separate tank where you observe for and treat diseases. Only major difference is that the general demands of the fish is simpler.

@Jay Hemdal do you have a standard protocol for new freshwater fish such as african cichlids?
My FW quarantine is a bit simpler; I treat prophylactically with praziquantel 2x, but then treat with anti-protozoan medications only if I see symptoms. The reason for the difference is that I almost always have the ability to treat FW later on, but once I release marine fish from quarantine, I’m more restricted.
I still hold FW fish for 45 days though….
