I see that I can use my Test Kit from API for Freshwater for basic measurements with saltwater. So I guess my best bet is to go for Salifert specifics tests kit. ;)
I wouldnt read in to the whole API vs other test kit too much. They will only like be in a ten percent accuracy range. If happy with API stick with them.

Many of us have moved on from needing ridiculously tight results.

Still your tank and advice here (mine included) can be ditched in favour of your own. Happy reefing.

I’m new here too and also have a fluval evo 13.5! They’re honestly the best little tanks, I just love mine. The only thing I’d recommend is swapping out the slimmer for literally anything else. The fluval skimmer than is compatible with the Evo is notorious in Evo fb groups for breaking and, as a pet store employee who regularly deals with Hagen, I can tell you Fluval/Hagen are aware of this issue, but have not made any changes or issued any recalls.
