So while the tank is cycling I'm doing some shopping. I have two plain ocellaris clownfish at the moment but want a bigger group. There is somebody locally that usually has some and I spoke to him yesterday. At his house I now have two frostbite and two mochavinci clownfish. Once the tank is cycled and ready, I'll take my two and those 4 and add them to the tank at the same time. From what I've read and the people I've talked to, doing it this way should help reduce aggression issues being its a brand new tank. Cant wait to see those guys.

Haven’t updated in a while. Tank is coming along on the cycle. The ugly has started. I got the skimmer in and am running it just to get the break in period over with during the cycle. Starting to get excited to see this cycle done.

So a quick update, the tank is coming along. I used the red sea mature kit and it did a great job. I added my first fish to the tank Sunday night, this morning he was still doing good. I'm going to monitor for a bit before I go any further with it. Also here is a little pic of a tank I put together Saturday just for the heck of it. I had an old JBJ 12 gallon nano cube not being used. So I ripped the top rim off and converted it to a rimless. I'm going to let Zoa's take over this little tank. I'll add a AI prime to it down the road.

I actually picked the tank up about a week ago. I can actually give one update already. I posted on r2r about black backgrounds. I was debating between what way I wanted to go about it. I ended up going a dark windown tint. If it last then I will be super excited, because I like the way it turned out. Something about looks super clean to me.

Added the two gobies and pistol today. The two gobies found each other pretty quick and found a dug out. The pistol ended up on the opposite side of the tank and I’m not sure they found each other. But one of the gobies finally poked his head out.

So looking for a little advice, wanting to add some equipment. I want to add a float or sensor to my ATO reservoir for apex to alert me when it's getting low, I have a bad habit of not checking it enough. My initial thought was to just get a float and hook it up to a break out box on the apex. Then I started looking at the FMM module on the apex and wondering if this would be better. My thought is to use the FMM with an optical sensor and then I would still have three available ports for additional sensors. Then come time to start dosing I can use the optical sensors in them as well. The only hang up I have is, are there other reservoirs available with holes for running the wire for the sensor other than the apex ones? The apex dosing containers are nice but I think will be too big for where I plan to place them. Or would I be better off just getting the break out box and utilizing it later on other things?

So I'm still fighting my breakers with this tank, it has done some weird stuff. I know I'm not overloading my circuit so it has to be something else. All the research I've done says that fluorescent lights just don't always get along with afci breakers. Something about the way the ballast comes on trick the breaker into thinking there is an arc forming. I'm not 100% this is the problem but I decided to go ahead and upgrade lighting. I was going to anyways but was going to wait a while before I did. instead, I now have 2 maxspect etherals on there way and should be here by Tuesday next week. Hoping this solves the problem with the tripping I'm dealing with. If not then maybe it's just bad breakers and I'll start changing them out. I know getting rid of afci breaker would probably solve the problem, but I like the safety factor they provide. So for now I will just try to work around it.

Couple of updates, did some work on the tank tonight. Got the lights and put them on, I’m just starting but I’m already liking these lights. Since I got those in I also built the screen top for it.

Also, I had agreed to purchase a hammer colony from a local reefer. I’ve been putting it off for the tank to mature but it was starting to crowd some of his acro so it was time. We counted 22 heads when we took it out. It’s not completely open in this pic but here it is.
