Can anybody help me with this? My Tang has a fuzz on his nose and it won't go away. Recently it looks like his mouth is a little bit sideways and I'm not sure if it's because of this fuzz. He has had this now for over 6 months sometimes it looks worse than other times. It has not affected him or anything else in the tank but it is some type of growth on him. I do periodically dose my tank for ick and also other antibiotics I put into the water just as a precaution. Any help would be greatly appreciated thank you

That’s really odd, not so much the way it looks, but it’s chronic nature. Most disease issues tend to either get better or the fish dies, it is very rare for symptoms to just linger for half a year like this.
What other fish are in with it?
What antibiotics have you tried so far?

Sorry about the delay I had to get to my medications to see exactly which ones they were. I did use something that begins with an f and ends in zole, iv had metro Plex, bifuran, and para guard. Nothing seems to take it away completely. This week it looks worse. I will get another pic. Nothing else is wrong with my tank except the current outbreak of atasia that I'm trying to get under control. 120 gallon mixed reef. 40 gallon sump. Eshopps s200 protein skimmer and algae scrubber a CO2 scrubber AI HD lights. About 10 other fish every type of coral snails crabs shrimp everything else is doing fine.

I can't think of anything to try directly in your display. Some fish develop "idiopathic skin mucus" - basically, an overproduction of mucus from skin cells. In tangs, these usually form as cones shaped protrusions, but I can't really rule them out in this case.

Here is a link to an article I wrote that talks about mucus:

If there are no other symptoms with the fish, I think due to its chronic nature, it is just something that isn't going to be treatable.
