Well i have finally made a bit of progress! I hope to have the room at least ready for paint come this weekend. The back wall cant be finished because it has to come down so the tank can come in. Sadly it wont fit down my stairs so it will have to come in through the window!

Well mud and tape is done for now and everything is primed! Just need to paint the ceiling and walls. You may wonder why the back wall isnt done. Well that is the wall that will be coming out so the tank can get through the window in the bedroom. Once the tank is in, i will finish that wall and i got to move the fish rack too. I ordered all my salt today, i also got my tracks for my lights this week. Slow but steady progress! I feel like this is where things get expensive. All the little odds and ends really start to add up!!

Everything looks really good. I learned early in my build that everything takes 2x longer than expected. And if your lucky it doesn't cost 2x more than what you budgeted!

What are the plans for the room that the tank will be in? TV/theater room?

Thanks! Your absolutely right about the 2x as long. I try not to throw out numbers of what it should cost, its gets me in trouble with the wife. The room that the tank will be viewed from will be a theatre room yes...eventually ha!

Tomorrow is the day! I was able to round up enough buddies to help me get this behemoth in! Its current in my garage and will be going into the basement through a window. I also had to dig out a hole in the back yard so it will be low enough to go through. And to further make it easier. I made a mobile stand that it will slide onto through the window, then we can roll it right up to the stand and just push it on

So i have been trying to get as much done with the tank as i can with the little time i have. This weekend is a long one for us here in Canada, as July 1st is Canada Day. I figured I would get as much done as i possibly can in the 3 day weekend! Well the next big thing is putting the overflow back on! Great other than i have to clean all the silicone off and the overflow box is 5ft long!!! So i researched all the ways possible to make this go easier and faster... no method has been better than the other! Well me being. Diesel mechanic i knew i had to have something in the tool box that would take off the excess silicone better than razor blades and i found it! Some may think im crazy or reckless but i dont have the time ensure every piece of silicone is off with a razor blade. So i gave the wire wheel on my drill a spin! What a difference. Doesnt scratch the glass (only applying minimal pressure) but it peels the silicone right off. I have attached a few pics for reference!! I did about 10 edges in the time it would of taken me to do 1! I still plan to wipe everything down with acetone and ensure everything is 100% clean before reassembly!

Making strides now... kind of.
I got most of the rock in and the scape pretty much done. Just trying to decide if i will be moving over any of my rock from my 180! I also got the overflow back on last night. Im hoping to start on the plumbing and sump tomorrow. We will see how that goes.

Well im still making slow and steady progress! First picture is the freshly glued red pvc pipe. Ive never had colored piping so it weird to look at.
Picture #2 - the sump and the pumps in place. I used that flexi pvc and am really curious if it works better that tradition pvc and all the elbow. I also finally got the baffles installed in the sump.
Pic #3 my brand new townsend angel. Its a hybrid between the queen and press.
Pic #4 are a couple of the frags that came today. The orange is an RR tropicana. And the red is not named. But regardless, its a beautiful latistella acropora. I need to get a bit more water in. Then hopefully its almost time to add fish!!
