We left the rocky lava flows of Punta Moreno still on the 18th May 2019, and went back out to sea and to another section of the island were we saw the first Marine Iguanas of our trip.

Those are some large iguanas! great experience.
Amazing place thanks for sharing

Thank you and just remember this is only after 2 days on the boat, there is much more to come including large colonies of marine iguanas, penguins, playful sea lions, sharks......

I’m glad your enjoying the journal, I’m certainly enjoying reliving the adventure and still can’t believe I did it.

We left the Pelican a few yards behind us, on the afternoon at Punta Moreno Island 18th May 2019.

Then we experienced a simply magical moment as we were joined by a playful sea lion!

He swam and played all around the boats, jumping and diving and it was very special

WAIT, don’t GO!......

So as the sun started to set we said goodbye to our little sea lion friend and headed back to the boat at the end of another unbelievable day......

What a beautiful place. Was it as unspoiled as it looks?
Yes, most of the Galapagos Islands are not occupied by humans, so your walking on unspoiled lands and apart from the occasional small yachts like ours we didn’t see anyone else, it was very quiet..

This is one of the reasons the animals are so friendly, they don’t know who or what we are because there are few natural predators. The Pelicans, Marine Iguanas, Birds etc take no notice of you, other than maybe an ‘odd look’

It’s very difficult to put into words The experience to be honest, and I still can’t believe we were there.

There is much still to come, and I’m also enjoying righting this because it brings the memories all back, which are still fresh because it was only a few weeks ago when we were there. And now I’m back in England thinking wow......

Shaun, I feel like I was there with you. One of my favorite threads of all time.

Thanks Brian, I’m trying to write it in a way that does that, and pulls you into the adventure with us (and I’m not a writer! Lol)

I'm so glad you got to share that with your son. Pretty amazing place. I'm looking for an unspoiled place here to take my son. Thank you for sharing the intimate pics. I enjoy the raw beauty as well.

Wherever you decide just go for it. This was very daunting for me, but it was organised for us with absolute precision and was faultless throughout the whole journey

At around 0530 on the 19th May 2019 we woke up at Elizabeth Bay located at Isabella Island which is home to the largest colony of Penguins in Galapagos

We headed off in the inflatables and then met the first of many of the bays inhabitants, one of which soon got bored with us and went back to sleep...
