Ok couple updates for the month.
Lost my exquisite fire fish [emoji20]
Not sure how, no signs of disease was purchased during my 15 gallon. Has been in every tank since. Was an adult at purchase, perhaps old age.
Have had lubbock’s fairy wrasse and a coral banded shrimp in qt since 7/3.
Added a fresh air line to my skimmer.
My planted has finally started looking like an aquarium again, need to do a hefty sand vacuuming though.
My sps have started showing new calcification this month. They were a little stunted from the move to the 40. Once it cools down a bit, will order an acro pack or 2 from vivid aquariums.

Added the IM gourmet defroster today.
Denser frozen foods almost acts as an all day feeder.
First cube i used with was a San Francisco Bay Angel and Butterfly diet. 1 cube took 6 hours to defrost.
Also added worm feeders to both tanks. Though i havent actually started any cultures [emoji23]
More food goes to the fish and inverts then my filter sock wi

Its ok, pain to setup in the beginning, after that it has so far been accurate, i periodically recalibrate it. Made this easier by adding measured dosing lines on my containers for 100ml and 200ml when they are no longer equal across all three in usage i recalibrate. I have a graduated cylinder for the calibration.
If i had to replace one piece of equipment this would be it, simply because it would be easier to adjust if it was wifi.

My wwc live sale corals arrived today.
My atomic orange monti has a 1/3 cm retreat of tissue on it, they included a free rainbow monti. My 5 corals became 6.
I some how lost my frag rack. Made this real quick out of an ice tray and a drill.
Really should use my dslr more often that picture does not give the frags credit lol.

So last night found some strings that looked like dinos.
Under a microscope confirmed my suspicions.
Using the ever handy measuring tools, created a solution of kno3 and khpo4.
Took the 45 minutes to test both no3 and po4. Both were read 0. (Red Sea)
And added as my 4th dosing line. Starting at 1ml a day. Goal is not zero not a particular number. This will overtime add i believe trivial amount of potassium that will be interesting to see how much my next icp test.
My fix is from @mcarrols dino thread.
The solution is 1 gram kh2po4, 4 grams kno3 100 ml rodi. 1ml will not add a lot by design going slow.

Ok redid my nitrate test. Must have done improperly the first time nitrate not anywhere near zero lol.

Up to 3, 1 ml doses a day ok kh2po4. First test after dosing was .08 few hours later .02 dosed again, this morning 0.
Ordered a 13w uv light and testing vibrant at an upped dosage. Dosing is set for 8am, 1pm and 8pm. Assuming most is used during the photoperiod.
Over a 100 day dosing will add ~15ppm K. Which is a wash if even minimal water changes were done.

Been about a month into the dino battle. It is starting to give way to some coraline growth some of my corals are opening again, frog spawn, 2 of the acros and the pocillopora. Added a black tonga torch and another montipora. Also added some cleanup crew, bumble bee snails and pom pom crabs.

Picked up some red sea energy a and b.
Seeing if coupled with my current nutrient dosing will speed up the dino battle. Right side of the tank is actually almost 80% dino free not really sure why one side is gaining traction faster than than the other.

Killed another ato pump,
Ordered a diaphragm pump to replace it this time cost was 3 times more than the submersible pumps, but safer with my forgetful mind

Ato pump arrived.
Of course didnt read the tubing requirements. 1/4” ID tubing now arriving tomorrow.
Also ordered an amethyst trigger ato reservoir. Will call it my present to myself for a promotion lol.

Also ordered some seachem acid buffer to slowly bring down my alkalinity of my salt mix. My lfs tends to have mariculture frags, and my 9.2 dkh hasnt lead to high survival rates going to over the next few weeks get towards 7.5-7.8 ish.

So last night did a water change filled, new ato reservoir, ate and fell asleep.
Woke up this morning inside my old ato reservoir(2 gallon aquarium).....
A dead mouse.... cats
Now wondering did he kill it, then put it in. Or did he put in watch run back and forth for awhile then kill it. Threw it outside.
Side note need to fill however it got in the first place.
