Got the new guys today. All look good. Put the shrimp right into the display, who knows if I will ever see him again, maybe I will just here him, he is really small.

Hard to see the Randall’s but they are under that rock.

Started my existing 3 on the TTM today. Will let them go through that process and then do the new 3.

Good idea to move forward with TTM.

Those tiny foxfaces are great. I think mine was about that size when I got him... grew pretty quick to about 5" and now he's probably 8" and very fat. Pretty lazy too. :0)

Well today was fun. Woke up and the furnace finally took a dump. House was at 53 degrees and falling as it was 10 degrees out. We have been waiting for parts since Jan 8th. Oh sweet home warranty.

Here was the dilemma, I had my display running with just corals and shrimp. Qt setup for observation with foxface as 2 wheeler gobies and a 5 gallon bucket doing ttm on my 2 clowns and yellow watchman. Well the display and qt weren’t holding a temp and both were down to about 72.

I determined that I would have to move all the fish to my display to move all heaters to the display as it had dropped to 72 and didn’t want it to keep falling and lose my corals. So I dumped everyone is. The gobies scattered, foxface went into a rock and camouflaged and the 2 clowns hung out up top.

Well another problem arose, the 3 extra small heaters weren’t really helping the display heat up, it’s an open top and the sump sits below it which sits on the tile floor. I called all around to the LFS’s and NO ONE had the heaters I was needing, I figured I would get the ones that I had been looking at but that wasn’t going to be the case today. Finally found a 300w at petsmart for $22, went out bought it and came home and installed it. Finally temp is coming back up, hooked that one up along with my other heater to my temp controller.

So all is well at the moment. The foxface seems to be settling in well and is swimming with my clowns and even picking at rocks. I’m sure I won’t see the gobies for awhile.

Here are some current pics. The first is the foxface camouflaged, I think that’s so cool. The hammers and torch are back to being normal and my frogspawn who was always small is loving his new area which has very little flow.

Welcomed a newaddition today, Royal Gramma. I wanted another one after my first one disappeared after 3 days. This guy is pretty good size and the LFS has had him for about 2 weeks and was eating great. I introduced him and he has been pretty active and not too shy, fed him the nightly mysis dinner and he is a pig!

The foxface is doing great as well, eating the mysis and out and about swimming around.

So... are you going to take the fish back out and QT them and let the system go fallow? I worry that you'll run into the same problems, especially with the gramma. They are ich magnets. Just be careful!

LFS got some Aussie yellow hammers in and ran a sale today, grabbed 1 head to add to the garden. Took the wife up there to pick it up and she fell in love with a starry night acropora, I wasn’t so sure about it as it’s pure white with yellow and purple polyps, pretty cool actually. Really interested to see what it looks like as it grows, praying I can keep my first Acro.

Sorry about the bad photos. I really need to get some polyplab lenses.

This algea on the sand is annoying me, making my sand clump together. Assuming it’s just part of the uglies.

Fish are all doing well, haven’t seen my yellow watchman for 3 weeks, not sure if her is dead. The new royal gramma and foxtail are great and I see the Wheelers gobies when it’s time to eat.

Coral is doing good, thinking of running my skimmer only at night to see if it makes a difference as me nitrates are 0 and phosphates at .06.

Params as of today
Ammonia 0
Nitrate 0
Nitrite 0
PH 8.2
Alk 7.5
Calc 400
Mag 1470
Phosphate .06
Salinity 1.027

Here are a couple more lit up pictures with the sun coming in the room. The clowns seem to be loving life. The flame is still a bit shy but tending to swim around more.

Could you bounce it off of the front to create turbulence?
Its these dang half round tanks, the center gets plenty but not the sides. Im planning to add a gyre to the back horizontally to send against the front of the glass and see if that helps.

Exactly what I was thinking. Or a Gyre vertically on each side maybe?
