I'm embarrassed to say that my recent reads on some of the taxonomy shuffles have me confused. I am getting better at ID'ing things, but usually only if I've learned the subject's different appearances (happy, sad, feeding, daytime, nighttime, extended, etc).
Thanks! The red purple green one was sold to me as a lobophyllia.
The orange red one one I was convinced was lobophyllia but it I swear I heard the kiddo helping me (a new guy at my well respected LFS) say “lord.”
That link is an awesome resource!
(1) is more poofy than when I brought it home months ago, but “lord” just confused me and I keep forgetting to ask the owner whenever I visit the shop. I thought also that I was just confused due to the movement since they do appear a little different at night.
Corals of the World lists 9 species of Lobophyllia and often in the species description they list similar genus so you might check out the other factsheets to see if you can figure out what "Lord" is. (I seriously doubt it's an Acanthastrea lordhowensis which as far as I've been able to determine is the only coral with "lord" in it's name.)
