That moment when adding saltwater and you realize you need to take one more picture of your sump because it will never be that clean again. ;Hilarious

At least I got this control board completed just haven’t hooked up the Icecap gyre pumps yet. Back to finalizing the APEX controller board.

Well day 3 after the addition of saltwater and an extremely tiny leak, that was not discovered during leak test, has appeared. Fortunately it is on the manifold and drips directly into the sump. Parts ordered already. Considering how many glued connections I had, to have only one leak is acceptable to me. Now it is quite irritating since I ran freshwater through it for 2 days and this didn’t happen but I suspect it was after I retightened the unions and the ball valve right next to the leak that caused it. Good this happened now and not a year down the road when I’m not actively looking.

Tested my sump capacity with all pumps turned off. It was a close one but it can hold all the water drained from all 3 tanks. Glad I decided to change the check valve style since the other one I was about to use has a much higher chance of not closing completely and that would over fill the sump.

A drill and a dremel tool and a bit of patience can go along way. If you decide to try this way I highly suggest the wood cutting bit I pictured. Makes short work of MDF.

That turned out great.
I love the colours on the painting and the effect they give with the blues from the lights.
They draw a lot of attention though.

Thanks! That was the plan for now though. The tank will hold its own in due time.... At least I hope it will. ;Smuggrin I have a very specific direction for this tank and I’m not going to deviate from the course. Everything put in will be specific for color and growth coral wise and the few fish I do keep will definitely will fit that direction as well. Stay tuned. :)

Got my first shipment from @AlgaeBarn for my fuge. Placed the blocks in to try and create a water flow direction for the Algea to tumble. I ordered red Ogo for now and might change over to cheato in the future depending on how and what me needs are. I do not plan on heavily stocking this tank, and the Ogo is much more interesting to look at I’m my opinion, so hopefully this will meet my nutrient stripping needs.
